A List Of Dog Breeds That Are Really Friendly

Having a super-friendly dog as a pet is all we want. In fact, if you have one and are planning to have another one, and because of that, you are here, first of all, welcome, and second of all, you are extremely lucky.

If you have a friendly dog at home, you must be living a great life, as spending cozy time with your dog truly feels amazing.

However, if you have no pet at home and are planning to have one, this blog post can be your guide. Stay tuned.

Let’s get straight to the point and try to find out which dog breed you should go for if you want a very friendly breed.

1: English Mastiffs

If you can define what a true gentle giant means in one word, it has to be English mastiff. They are big, strong, but at the same time very mature and know how to stay calm and composed, especially in front of their human friends.

Due to their obedient nature and being gentle giants, they are getting very popular in the giant dog categories. Many people are going after them and making them their true guard dogs.

However, should you go for them as a beginner, you can however, you need to look for a few things before you go for them.

English mastiffs are pretty tough to handle body-wise wise as they are quite massive in size. If they apply full force, they can literally pull you with them.

If you are a 40-pound man or woman, they might not be for you at all, to be honest, as they need a strong personality both physically and mentally.

There was an incident that took place in Ontario, where a man got manhandled by a mastiff, as he was very skinny and couldn’t handle the mastiff at all.

Now, what should you do if you want an English Mastiff and you are ready to face all the complications that it might bring? Well, it’s simple, you need to train yourself first and gain a bit of experience, I would say. Just getting a mastiff and learning along the way won’t gonna help much tbh.

Mastiffs can be extremely friendly if they are handled with care. Remember that.

2: Labrodor

Labrador retriever or simply Labrador are extremely energetic, cute, and friendly furry’s. They are like true friends, in fact, they are recommended by all the canine experts as the beginner friendly breed.

No expert in this world would say that they are bad for humans, in fact, Labrador, if I have to rank in terms of friendliness and how good they are for beginners, I would rank them one without a question.

I love my Labrador; he stays on the couch and just chills until it’s play time, and once it’s play time, no one in the world would be as energetic as him.

However, there are some cons you might have to face, one of them is their being so high in energy. You need to sometimes match their energy to keep them entertained so that they don’t use their high energy on your sofa set or bedsheet.

They are happy animals if they are getting the right amount of care, but sometimes they do get a bit hard to handle when they start to spend their energy fast.

So, if I have to give them a rating out of 5, I would give them a solid 5 and definitely recommend them. If it wasn’t mastiff being my favorite breed, I would have ranked Labrador number 1, no questions.

I almost forgot to mention, they are droolers just like the mastiffs, sometimes they lick off their owners a lot, so that could be a problem for some people too. So remember, before going for this breed.

3: German Shepherd

If you want a combination of playful, hardcore, and protective breeds, you must go for a German purebred. They are not just very loyal dogs, but at times when it is needed the most, they can protect you and your family from danger.

Their inherent sense of identifying danger makes them a really good guard dog, but not just that, they are fun, like going for a walk, easily trainable, and can live with beginner owners.

German Shepherds are not just any dogs; they are one of the most popular breeds out there and can be super supportive when you need them.

Many people use them as coping mechanisms to might of anxiety and bad feelings, they are so good that it sometimes makes you realize how wonderful nature is.

You need to train this breed early; that’s the only con, if you don’t need them to become overly aggressive or start barking at every random person without any reason.

4: Golden Retriever

This might be the number one choice for many, but I have placed them at number 4 just because of a couple of cons that they have.

Don’t get me wrong, they are truly fantastic breeds with really high energy, compatibility with their human friends, and loyalty, but they can be challenging to manage sometimes.

Golden retriever sheds a lot, and not just that, they need an active owner; they can’t just chill on the sofa, especially if they haven’t received an adequate amount of exercise or playing time in a day.

So basically, I don’t recommend this breed for someone who can’t manage a breed with high energy, and also, they are bad for people who have an allergy to dog shed, so if you are one of them, think twice before getting them as your next pet or first pet.

Btw, they are also known as the Golden child of America due to the reason they are the most popular breed; in fact, many websites rank them number 1.

Conclusion

There are many breeds that you can go for but the one that I’m recommending if you are really a beginner, it has to be labrador retriver, but if you have even the tiniest amount of experince, you must go for golden reteiver, however, if you have experince with dogs and want someone who can protect you, your family, and your yard at late nights from intruder and other animals, you may go for English mastiffs or german Spheerd.
